I. Number ofExchange Students
Two (2) exchangestudents for each semester.
II. Selection ofParticipants
Participation inthe Student Exchange Program (hereinafter refer to Program) is limited to thosestudents:
a) Undergraduatestudents in their third year or higher;
b) Graduatestudents.
III.Qualifications
1. All candidatesfor the Student Exchange Program to Tulane University must beenrolled in their third bachelor year or higher of law studies at CUPL and willbe in good academic standing, as reflected in approximately the top third ofthe class for all completed law school work.
2. If takingcourses with English language requirements, all candidates must have suitablelevels of language ability for the study of such subjects at Tulane University.
All candidatesshould submit the following test scores as evidence of their English languageproficiency to Faculty of International Law (TOEFL/IELTS scores are only validfor 2 years from the test date):
a) The minimumscores for Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) should be as follows:
1. 577 for thepaper-based test; or
2. 233 for thecomputer-based test; or
3. 90 for theinternet-based test
b) The minimumoverall score for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) shouldbe 7.
IV.Application
The Spring semester of Faculty of Law of Tulane University in 2018 willbegin in January 2018, so the candidates who wish to participate in the Programmust submit all the application documents to the Faculty of International Law,CUPL before 9 October 2017.
V. Application Checklist:
1. Copy of passport, or if notavailable at time of application, a copy of a state-issued identification card,such as a driver's license
2. Copy of Transcript
3. Application form signed
4. Completed Application Form andPersonal Statement
5. Letter of authorization fromhome law school. Note: the letter of authorization may be sent separately.
6. For candidates attendinginstitutions where the language of instruction is not English: official reportof TOEFL score, including TWE (TSE is optional, but recommended). Note:official report to be sent by ETS to Tulane Law School.
7. Statement of AdequateFunding.
Postgraduatestudents should submit the official academic records of previous law school andundergraduate education. Letters of recommendation by professors of the lawschool should be submitted meanwhile. Make sure you have included all requireddocuments before sending your application to the Faculty of International Law,CUPL so that we can process the applications promptly.
V. Fees and Expenses
1. No tuition fees will be charged by Law Schoolof Tulane University. Exchange students shall be personally responsible forcovering the following costs and expenses at Tulane University:
a) housing andmeals;
b) travel expensesbetween the two institutions;
c) hospitalizationand health insurance;
d) books andprogram materials;
e) equipment andconsumables;
f) passport andvisa costs; and
g) all otherincidental expenses arising out of the exchange.
h) students arerequired to carry . All J-1/J-2 visa holders must be covered bya , or they must obtain a waiver tothis policy by showing that they have health insurance with coverage that isequal to or better than the Tulane Health Plan for the full term of theirprogram.
2. ExchangeStudents will be required to provide evidence that they possess sufficientfunds to cover the reasonable costs and other personal expenses during theirstay at Faculty of Law Tulane University.
